The NIH High Risk High Rewards Program selected 15 recipients from a national pool of researchers across all specialties to receive a competitive Early Independence Award, which grants young investigators with exceptionally innovative ideas and potential early research independence. DeSelm is the first investigator at Washington University to receive this award.
